"If you were to insult Circulus, I would do my best to bare-knuckle box the crud out of you on the spot, even if you were Geoff Capes"
Tom Cox, journalist

"I fucking hate your band. You're like a really fucking bad acid trip."
Ali Rawlings, band manager

"As for Circulus I could write a fashion review on what they were wearing but the following words will do, “acid, nightmare, flowers, hair, California, dreaming, fear, loathing and Argh”! They wanted plenty of moog and didn’t just have a flute but loads of other reed based instruments that I probably couldn’t even name. I should have run screaming from the room again but this dizzy folk flashback surprisingly worked like a double dipped windowpane. This was bizarrely epic and filmic and at first I was reminded of a Morricone Western score mixed with the likes of Focus and Pentangle.
Well it certainly made a pleasant change from all those nasty death metal bands we normally cover and songs of peace and love were gay nectar to our ears."

"Silver City also plays host to Circulus, a tripped-out prog homage to both '70s psych and 12th-century chamber music. It's all about the burning scarecrows, see. The mystical mash-up of a lute, a Moog and various Arabic-sounding woodwind instruments is a bit like beef ice cream: unusual, but somehow right."

"Kentish Town, Fiddlers Elbow - October 31st 2004
Maybe Circulus signify the rebirth of prog: in this crazy, mixed up, paradoxical world we live in, it has to be said - they are so tragically unhip they are actually cooler than anything we've seen in a while. If you've missed them thus far, they'll be coming around again."
